ANZ today formally handed over the newly refurbished oncology rooms in the paediatric ward of Lautoka Hospital to local administration.

The refurbishment was led by the ANZ Staff Foundation, a charitable trust funded by ANZ staff donations, which are matched dollar-for-dollar by the bank.

ANZ Group Executive and Chief Executive Officer, New Zealand and Pacific-David Hisco says that they hope that the refurbished ward will provide comfort and care to sick kids getting treatment.

The Lautoka Oncology project was recommended to the ANZ Staff Foundation by community partner Walk On Walk Strong Kids, a charitable organisation that supports children with cancer.

ANZ Fiji Country Head, Saud Minam says this newly refurbished paediatric oncology unit means that kids with cancer will not have to travel all the way to Suva for treatment.
