Regional Security Officers based at Foreign Missions and representatives from United Nations agencies met with senior Fiji Police officials in a bid to strengthen networking amongst law enforcement officials.
A briefing was conducted outlining the work done by the Fiji Police post and during the COVID-19 period, cyclone season operations and the overall security and criminal landscape.
The representatives were also briefed on Community Policing initiatives and challenges faced by the organization.
Director International Relations Senior Superintendent of Police Ulaiasi Ravula said apart from the opportunity to provide officials a brief on security related matters, it was also aimed at improving networking.
He added the meeting which was jointly organised by the United Nations Resident Office will be conducted quarterly.
