Punjas is proud to announce a major sponsorship deal with the Fiji Football Association. Punjas will specially sponsor the Battle of Giants Tournament for the next three years, commencing 2020 through to 2022.
The Battle of the Giants Tournament is the most anticipated football competition of the year and is an important event on Fiji’s sporting calendar. We feel proud and very privileged to be the naming sponsor for Punjas Battle of Giants.
The Punjas name is my grandfather’s name which we are putting on products as a brand. We strive to offer the highest quality products to all our customers by our investment in the latest technology, highest quality control and food safety standards.
In our 85th year we have introduced two new cookies to our growing family of Punjas Biscuits which are the High-Fibre Oat and Ginger Cookie, as well as the Coco and Coconut Cookie.
Punjas was established in 1935, and is celebrating 85 years of serving the people of Fiji. We could think of no better way to mark this milestone, other than giving back to the football community. Our corporate policy places great emphasis on community development and we believe sport has an incredible ability to bring people together.
Punjas has always supported the sporting community as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility. Our major sponsorships have included the South Pacific Games, The Battle of Giants, the Pacific Islanders rugby union series and team and the Pacific Tri-nations rugby Series. We are also currently a major sponsor of the Fiji Netball Team.
My grandfather, late Mr. Punja Kara started a small store in Cuvu, Sigatoka in 1935. Our company has since grown into a diversified organization with over 1,100 employees. Our company would not be where it is today without the support of the community. I’d like to thank you all for the continued support.
I must pay tribute to my father Mr Kanti Punja, who just turned 85 years old 3 weeks ago but still has the work drive of a 25 year old. He still comes to work every day and is instrumental in driving our community and charitable projects.
Speaking of Community, Punjas are heavily involved in projects to support the community. This support include the Punjas Health Centre, Punjas Children’s Park the Golden Age Home and assisting with food rations for those in need.
I would like to congratulate the Fiji Football Association for their commitment to building passion, skills and healthy competition within our community and especially for setting up the Fiji Football Association academies.
Thank you again for joining us and supporting the 2020 Punjas Battle of Giants Tournament. On behalf of Punjas, I wish all the teams the best of luck and may the best team win.
