Permanent Secretary, Office of the Prime Minister, Sugar Industry and Acting Permanent Secretary, Foreign Affairs, Mr Yogesh Karan received a courtesy call from the Chargé d’Affaires, United States Embassy, Mr. Tony Greubel.
The two Senior Officials discussed strengthening of bilateral relations between Fiji and the United States of America.
In congratulating Mr. Greubel on his new role, PS Karan said he is confident that Mr. Greubel’s experience and distinguished career as a diplomat will be of great assistance in further progressing the relations of the two countries.
Reflecting on the United States renewed commitment to the climate action agenda, PS Karan conveyed the Fijian Government’s appreciation to President Biden and the United States administration’s landmark achievement in rejoining the climate accord.
Fiji and the United States have also reaffirmed their commitment to pursue further opportunities in the procurement of COVID-19 vaccine for Fiji and the region. In response, Mr. Greubel reaffirmed the United States commitment to strengthening Fiji and United States relations.
