Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama departed Viti Levu for his official tour of islands affected by Tropical Cyclone Harold yesterday.
Speaking from onboard the RFNS Ka-cau, Bainimarama continued to remind Fijians to stay vigilent during the COVID-19 crisis.
Following Government declaring a State of Natural Disaster for areas affected by Tropical Cyclone Harold Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama is currntly on a weeklong tour in the Lau group and Kadavu.
Bainimarama joins the National Disaster Management Office delivering supplies donated by the Australian and New Zealand governments.
While there has been good news with regards to patients recovery, Bainimarama says people should remain vigilant as there could still be hidden symptom-less cases.
The Prime Minister adds Fiji has COVID-19 on the ropes at the moment, and the government is aiming to have 4 weeks without any new case in Fiji that will see us officially breaking the known chains of transmission.
The Prime Minister will be joining the advance team that left for Southern Lau over the weekend with the first stop the island of Matuku.
