The Deputy Director Traffic Superintendent of Police (SP) Josua Vodo will today lead a contingent for a year of duty with the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS).

The contingent flies out of the country today, increasing Fiji Police’s UN police peacekeeping numbers.Currently there are 25 officers serving in various UN mission areas in South Sudan (UNMISS) Darfur (UNAMID), Sinai (MFO), Iraq (UNAMI) and the secondment of UNMISS Commissioner Unaisi Vuniwaqa.

Also flying out with the contingent is W/IP Rusila Cakacaka who will mark Fiji’s first ever UN peacekeeping footprints in Abyei under the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA)
