Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama has urged traditional leaders of Matuku Island to support and cooperate with Government efforts in the distribution of relief items to those affected by #TCHarold.

This is in response to requests for proper housing as many houses were destroyed on the island of Matuku.

The PM reassured the people of Matuku that “the Government will provide all the necessary rehabilitation works on the island”.

He spoke to the traditional leaders on the need to ensure that government officials serving on the island are properly accommodated, and furthermore, for the villagers to assist in the building of homes that were destroyed during TC Harold.

He also officiated at the launch of the sawmill machine that will assist in providing materials for the construction of these homes.
