The vuvale-concept will be effective in addressing climate change should the Australian government come on board in establishing more common grounds with Fiji on this issue.
Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama reveals this while pleading with those present at the Australian Defence College this week.
He added that there is a need for the Australian government to be more more ambitious in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
“Respect of genuine democracy and the rule of law are values that bind the people of Fiji and Australia,” Bainimarama said.
“We have fought and we will fight to protect these values.”
Bainimarama also acknowledged the military humanitarian intervention made by the Australian government to Fiji in the aftermath of TC Winston in 2016.
