Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama, Cabinet ministers and senior government officials yesterday evening held a talanoa session with community members of Wailevu Tiri in Labasa.
Prime Minister Bainimarama, on behalf of Government and his entourage, thanked the community members for their support and for turning up in numbers to discuss and solve issues that are affecting the community.
Issues highlighted during the talanoa session ranged from improving drainage systems, land issues, cane farming assistance and social welfare assistance.
Prime Minister Bainimarama thanked the community members for their contribution to the development of the northern economy.
He encouraged them to work and support the Government with the developments taking place in the North.
Also speaking at the talanoa session, Minister for Defence, Policing and National Security, Rural and Maritime Development Hon. Inia Seruiratu reassured the community that Government will attend to the issues raised during the talanoa session.
The farming community consists of 42 families, 24 of which are sugarcane farmers that rely on agriculture as the main source of income.
