Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama this morning attended the opening ceremony for the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week at the ADNEC Exhibition Centre in the United Arab Emirates.
The week-long sustainability summit brings together Heads of Government, policy-makers, industry specialists, technology pioneers and upcoming sustainability leaders from around the world.
Also present at the event was the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, His Royal Highness Sheik Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Following the opening ceremony, Prime Minister Bainimarama had a bilateral meeting with the Crown Prince where they discussed ways to further enhance Fiji’s relationship with the UAE.
Prime Minister Bainimarama said he fully appreciated the potential and opportunities that our relations can offer, at the same time, reaffirming his personal commitment to building stronger bilateral relationships with the UAE.
The Prime Minister also sincerely thanked His Royal Highness for the generous assistance of $10 million through UAE Red Crescent in the rehabilitation and construction of three schools in Fiji that were adversely affected by TC Winston in 2016.
