Patients with Extreme cases of Substance abuse is still a worrying concern for health Professionals.
This was revealed by the Hospitals Acting-Medical Superintendent – Dr Kiran Gaikwad.
He says they come to them when they are usually in the state where their brain is badly affected, they’re not behaving normally, getting aggressive, violent, they are not in their own senses. They are detached from reality or they commit some crime due to their influence on drugs and then they are bought to the hospital.
Dr. Kiran also mentioned the importance of family support when patients are admitted from every stage of rehabilitation to recovery.
Plans are also underway to start a “Rehab Ward” soon, for Patients with substance Abuse, at the Hospital. There are currently 74 Patients admitted at the Hospital with a staff of 200.
