The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is concerned with the increase in paraquat infection in dogs and other animals brought to its facility.
Despite the Fijian government’s ban on paraquate late last year, the SPCA has still recorded an increase in paraquat poisoning.
Clinic Shelter Manager Shaneel Narayan says Pacific Habour remains a suspect area as many cases have been recorded from there.
SPCA is calling on help from the government to investigate the matter.
