Fiji coach Gareth Baber paid tribute to the victims of the March 15 Christchurch terrorist attacks, as his side won a record fifth Hong Kong Sevens title.
As Fiji defeated France 21-7 to take the top prize at Hong Kong Stadium, coach Baber chose to honour those lost after a gunman opened fire on two separate mosques last month.
Three Fijians were killed in the attacks – Ashraf Ali Razat, Ashraf Ali and Imam Hafiz Musa Patel.
“It’s a fantastic feeling, I’m sure it’ll sink in over the next two or three days,” Baber began.
“But all of this has been in the backdrop of what’s happened in Christchurch.
“Obviously our hearts and our thoughts go out to all those families, and this is a dedication to them.”
The win saw Fiji move to second overall in the World Sevens Series standings.
