As Police round off another week of operations and head into another, the announcement by the Prime Minister that Fiji has only 4 active COVID-19 cases was certainly welcome news for all Fijians.
Both the Soasoa and Nabua lockdowns have been uplifted and officers manning these checkpoints have returned back to base and to their respective Units and Stations.
Officers continue with operations at the Vunicagi lockdown areas.
As we pray and eagerly await the news of the other four patient’s recovery, we are urging all Fijians to support all ongoing efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19.
This past week we have recorded an increase in the number of arrests in relation to sporting activities, which is an indication that some think that life is back to normal – and we reiterate the Prime Minister’s the point that everyone should act as if COVID- 19 is around.
SIMPLY BECAUSE – IT STILL IS AROUND US!
The nationwide curfew remains from 10pm to 5am, social gatherings should be 20 people or less and people should continue to practise social distancing.
