Villagers living in Rewa and Tailevu now have alternative sources of livelihood.

This follows the opening of the Rewa and Tailevu nursery distribution centres by the Minister for Forestry- Osea Naiqamu.
The nurseries will be utilised to store trees such as fuelwood, sandalwood, fruit trees and native or indigenous trees that will be used for planting in the two provinces as well as sold to generate income.
The nurseries which are co-funded by the Fijian Government through the Ministry of Forestry and the International Tropical Timber Organisation will cater for all seedlings that are bought from the six International Tropical Timber Organisation community nurseries, with the aim to control coastal erosion and degradation.
