The National Federation Party will file nomination of a provisional candidate tomorrow morning following disqualification of one of its provisional candidates by the Fijian Elections Office.
NFP Leader, Professor Biman Prasad says they can confirm that Feroz Mohammed has been disqualified after failing to meet the requirements of “Ordinarily Resident” in the Electoral laws, which requires a candidate to be in Fiji for no less than 18 months out of two years prior to nominations.
The nominations of 50 other provisional candidates have been approved and they are now confirmed candidates for the NFP.
Professor Prasad says they will replace Mohammed by nominating a candidate before the closure of nominations at midday today.
