The National Federation party Headquarters was raided last night by police officers from the Criminal Investigation Department.
Commissioner of Police Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho confirmed to Fiji One News that the raid is in relation to the investigation about a social media post.
The National Federation Party has not been informed of the grounds of investigations that led to the search of its headquarters.
In an interview with Fiji One News NFP, President Pio Tikoduadua claims the party is not aware of the allegations by one individual.
The party is concerned the search would be seen as suppression of political will.
NFP President Pio Tikoduadua says details surrounding the investigation are unclear and the party has not heard from the police.
Police Spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed a person was interviewed under caution and investigation continue.
However, Naisoro confirms the man was taken into custody again by Namaka Police for another pending investigation against him where he allegedly raped a 13-year-old girl.
The report was lodged about two weeks ago and he is alleged to have committed the offense several times.
