Employees of Labasa Farm Fresh Company in Vanua Levu were elated, to have received a refrigerator truck worth fifty-five thousand dollars this week.
Thanks to the Ministry of Agriculture – the truck will assist the company’s vegetable export business venture.

The refrigerator truck, officially handed over by Minister for Agriculture – Inia Seruiratu, is part of the Ministry of Agriculture’s continued efforts in increasing export supplies, and increasing ‘shelf-life’ of locally produced vegetables.

Seruiratu says government has a policy in place which is about creating opportunities for people in Vanua Levu, and as the Government improves infrastructure, it brings service providers and activities to improve the services for people here in the Northern Division.

The Minister also reiterated that agriculture is the main source of livelihood for many Fijians in the north, adding that there was still a huge potential to deliver more.

He also highlighted the Ministry’s role in strengthening the value-chain and linkages, between farmers and the market.
