Following the review of fuel prices by the Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission, the determined new prices will go into effect from today the 1st of November.
The price of Motor Spirit has increased from $2.11 to $2.19, an increase of 8cents per litre.
Premix has also increased from the old price of $1.97 to the new price of $2.02, an increase of 5 cents per litre.
The price of kerosene has see a decrease of 2 cents per litre, it is now $1.57 from the old price of $1.59.
Diesel remains the same at $1.85 per litre.
According to FCCC the change in prices were set due to the mid-September drone attacks on the Abqaiq and Khurais oil refinery in Saudi Arabia, which are the largest crude oil stabilisation plant in the world.
And that being a price taker, Fiji is directly impacted by the world market prices for both refined oils and LPG. And any changes to the world market prices will be reflected in Fuel prices in Fiji.
