The coordination between the National Disaster Management Office and the Mineral Resource Department to test out the 11 Tsunami Sirens around Suva was successfully carried out this morning.
FNPF General Manager Corporate Governance, Uday Singh believes that they can still do better with their timing. The FNPF staff completed their drill in 18 minutes from when the siren was triggered.
The upcoming Tsunami Drill will be held on the 7th of March, 2019 for students and staff at the Fiji National University (Maritime Academy and Catering School) and the University of the South Pacific.
The NDMO will also work with the Mineral Resource Department in looking at installing Tsunami sirens around other areas in Fiji.
