Stage two of the compensation payment for the Nausori airport extension saw nine tenants receive a total of $620,000.

“This is the type of coordination that Government desires to drive Fiji forward during this difficult time,” said Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources, Hon. Jone Usamate, while acknowledging the collaboration between Fiji Airports, iTaukei Lands Trust Board, the landowners, property owners and his Ministry.

“This is the direction that Government would want to pursue in solidarity with Fiji’s local, regional and international development and trade partnerships to enable Fiji to fight this economic downturn incurred as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.“

Minister Usamate added that the Fijian government is committed to strengthening cooperation across all spheres of development and trade as part of Fiji’s national recovery strategies.
