The Tagi Vonolagi coached Nasinu football team has geared up its preparation against Ba in the Vodafone Premier League fixture which will be hosted by the Men-in-Black at Fiji FA Academy Ground in Ba on Saturday.
Vonolagi said they knew they had a mammoth task ahead of them this week.
“We had four weeks to prepare but I still see the players need more time to get their fitness to their par but yes the momentum in the camp is high and the players are looking forward the first match after more than three months great, “said former Nasinu captain
“As you know all teams look forward to play big teams like for us and other small teams, it gives a big boost to play champion team like Ba.
The former national team goalkeeper is confident his players would give their best against Ba.
“We all know Ba got advantage over Navua last weekend despite losing some key players but as we all know Ba is Ba and they will try to keep their unbeaten run in the competition,” said Vonolagi
Vonolagi said whenever Ba and Nasinu have clashed there was excitement in the match.
“It will be quite a good exposure for us as well going into their home ground, last year same time we went and played with them and we almost won so the boys are eager to go and give the best shot in the first game after the break,”
The former national team captain confirmed that they had roped in some players in the mid-season transfer window to fill the vacuum where needed.
“Only the positional players, such as a mid-fielder from Ba that is Patrick Sarwan, then we have a defender from Tavua, that is Semi Vakatalai then we have a defender from Lami FC, Asish Chand. So basically the three is going to fill up the vacuum we are having right now.”
Nasinu is seventh on the VPL table with four points after winning one and a draw out of their four matches.
The match kicks off at 3pm.
