The position of the Secretary-General to Parliament has been re-advertised.
According to a government statement, Viniana Namosimalua’s appointment as the Acting Secretary-General to Parliament has not been renewed.
President acting on the advice of the Constitutional Offices Commission has appointed the Deputy Secretary-General Jeanette Emberson to act as the Secretary-General to Parliament until a substantive appointment is made. Emberson’s acting appointment is effective from 12 January 2021.
Mohammed Saneem will continue his role as the Supervisor of Elections for a term of 5 years after his reappointment.
Acting Chief Justice Kamal Kumar has been re-appointed as the Chairperson of the Human Rights and Anti-Discrimination Commission. Lanieta Tuimabu, Nicole Daniels, Sureni Perera, and Pravesh Sharma have also been re-appointed as members of the Commission.
Vishnu Mohan has been re-appointed as the Chairperson of the Public Service Commission. Nesbitt Hazelman, Nikita Patel, and Shaenaz Voss have also been re-appointed as members of the Commission.
The positions of the Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces, the Commissioner of the Fiji Police Force, and the Commissioner of the Fiji Corrections Service have been advertised and appointments to these constitutional offices will be made following an open merit recruitment process.
