$18M Namau Water Treatment Plant Made to Connect Tailevu Areas like Waidalice in Tailevu and other parts of elevated Tailevu used to be difficult to access because of old systems which were not big enough to cater for the terrain and altitude.
The old reservoir was located at a lower altitude and did not afford the hydraulic capacity required to supply water to the higher alleviated areas.
The Namau Water Treatment Plant has now been commissioned and has allowed WAF teams to commence connecting to these areas which are the purpose of the $18 million projects for residents of Tailevu and surrounding areas.
The work is scheduled for completion in 2021. However, water carting has been regularly provided for any calls made to WAF on 5777 as per the rural water carting scheme which ensures Fijians in rural areas have access to clean water.
