Today marks the ninth day since 3 year old Talei Raikadroka went missing from her grandfathers home in Kalekana, Lami on Saturday last week.

The child’s maternal grandmother Arieta Ronaiqato says she is confident that her granddaughter is still alive.

“As I speak, I know Talei is still alive. I am determined she is still alive but I need help,”she said.

Ronaiqato claims that one of her relatives told her they saw the three-year old with a male who identified as a transgender person in Namara Settlement hoewever search to find the missing child was not succesful.

” This morning, before you guys arrived. One of my relatives came and said that when he went to the wharf this morning to get their food parcel, a man from Namara Settlement,Khalsa Settlement told him that he saw the missing child being advertised on TV and newspaper in Namara with a male who identified as a transgender,” Ronaiqato said.

She says that she wants those responsible for Talei Raikadroka the night before she went missing to be questioned because that is how the police can identify how the child went missing.

Efforts to get the three year old’s mother to comment as well as the relatives responsible were not successful.
The police are still searching for the three year old and investigations continues.
