The Ministry of Fisheries have started once again with their clean up campaigns along beaches in a bid to raise awareness on plastic pollution.
The ministry had started this initiative in 2017 leading up to the Oceans Conference which was held in New York.
Civil servants around the country also participate every Wednesday’s in wellness programs but the ministry has decided to dedicate this day to cleaning up of rubbish along the foreshore.
The ministry will also begin with the planting mangroves program and hopes that more communities and organisations will come on board.
Awareness programs will be carried out prior to the nation wide planting program.
