The Ministry of Waterways and Environment has activated its Waterways and Environment Clearing Team as the tropical depression continues to intensify and move closer to the country.
Minister for Waterways and Environment, Dr. Mahendra Reddy says this team will just be a call away to assist the members of the public in clearing debris and waterways that can be a result of heavy downpour.
“Each team at its disposal will have a truck, chainsaws, manpower and 4×4 vehicles to clear any debris that maybe obstructing waterways.
The idea is to clear the debris quickly and drain the water out quickly.
People can call Rajiv Kumar on 990 4304 in the central division, Inosi Nabuka and Umesh Singh on 990 4314 and 934 5273 respectively in the western division and Sanjay Narayan on 990 4320 and Sanivilati Cola on 891 6945 in the northern division. Our teams are already on standby,” Dr. Reddy said.
