Minister for Health and Medical Services, Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete yesterday evening launched the month long awareness for prostate cancer hosted by the Suva Golden Oldies Rugby Club at Defence Club in Suva.

“I am so pleased that the month of October was Pinktober and the month of November is Movember, which allows us the opportunity to reflect on cancers and the effects of non-communicable disease as a whole,” Dr. Waqainabete said.

“Approximately 30 to 40 Fijians are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year. We are fortunate that we have clinics that look after prostate cancer and we walk hand in hand with Fiji Cancer Society”, Minister Waqainabete said.

Minister Waqainabete has urged men to attend to regular check ups at their nearest health clinics.
