Senior Management of the Ministry of Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management were this week urged to remain optimistic and resilient in a changing reality as the COVID-19 pandemic and disaster impact continues to pose a major challenge against development in the country.
While addressing members of the senior management board of the Ministry in Suva, Minister for Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management Inia Seruiratu said the country has been through a very challenging first half of this year.
Minister Seruiratu said its vital the Ministry carried out its work well to ensure that Fijians affected were able to survive during this difficult time.
He said that apart from the challenges brought about by COVID-19, the country was also gripped with the recent devastation left behind by TC Harold.
Minister Seruiratu also reminded senior officials to work smarter and to plan and coordinate well during this time.
