Minister for Forestry Honourable Osea Naiqamu visited Rauriko village and Namukalau village in the district of Dogotuki in Vanua Levu yesterday.

As part of the 30million trees in 15 years tree planting initiative, Minister Naiqamu reminded the villagers of the importance of planting trees to combat climate change.

During the talanoa session, Minister Naiqamu urged the villagers to build nurseries for economic empowerment as Government will purchase seedlings from them.

The construction of the nursery will greatly assist us as this will reduce the costs of having to transport seedlings from the national nursery in Labasa to remote villages in the North.
