“Make universities not only a knowledge based institution but also an environment that promotes health and well-being. It’s not only what we leaders leave behind that matters but what you future leaders can do for your younger siblings to follow is equally important.”

This was shared by the Minister for Health and Medical Services  Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete  while opening the University of the South Pacific  Health and Wellness Week  in Suva today.

Waqainabete commended the university’s effort in engaging students and staff to move towards healthy lifestyles to ensure better health for all.

Activities throughout the week include, mental health awareness, oral heath, free medical checks, food and nutrition advice, blood drive and cooking demonstration.

This is the initiatives sixth year.
