The two are in no way strangers to many – both having represented Fiji on the regional and international netball arena.
WPC Gaunavinaka hails from Batiri in Nadroga with maternal links to Conua, Nadroga whereas WPC Panapasa hails from the beautiful island of Rotuma with maternal links to Tubou, Lakeba in Lau.
Both officers represented Fiji in the 2017 Netball Youth World Cup in Botswana, as well as the 2019 World Cup held in England and have played at the regional level at the Oceania Test Series and the South Pacific Games in 2015.
Twenty-four year -old WPC Gaunavinaka who is a former student of Nadroga Arya College was recruited in 2017 after spending 2 years serving as a Special Constable and is now based at the Lami Police Station.
WPC Gaunavinaka believes to achieve greatness one must fully dedicate themselves to the task at hand and give it their all.
Meanwhile twenty-year old WPC Panapasa a former Suva Grammar School student believes age doesn’t matter when you want to achieve something in life.
The youngest of three siblings, WPC Panapasa was recruited early this year and is now based at the Valelevu Police Station.
This past week the two women police officers stood out as they took up the role of Stick Orderlies during the Southern Division Parade in Nasova, a significant achievement in their young policing careers.
