The Ministry of Health and Medical Services is projecting to have targeted groups vaccinated by Christmas by expanding its mass immunization for measles campaign across whole of Fiji.
The Ministry’s Head of Health Protection Dr Aalisha Sahu Khan, speaking at a press conference, highlighted this noting that “we aim to leave no-one behind and ensure that everyone in the target group gets vaccinated”.
“Since the outbreak was declared on the 7th of November, over 200,000 people have been immunized against measles in Fiji,” Dr Sahu Khan said.
The expansion of the national campaign will continue to target people who are most at risk of being infected by measles and spreading the disease.
