FIVE local based players have forced their way in to the Fiji Airways Flying Fijians team for the Rugby World Cup.
Head coach John McKee named his final 33 squad member today.
Suva hooker – Mesulame Dolakoto and loose-head prop, Eroni Mawi are part of this team and will be playing in their first ever World Cup. They are joined by Naitasiri hooker, Ratu Vere Vugakoto and half back Frank Lomani.
Namosi open-side flanker and Drua captain – Mosese Voka is also part of this team.
A number of players in the like of Peceli Yato, Semi Kunatani, Viliame Mata, Tevita Ratuva, Semi Radradra, Josua Tuisova,Alivereti Veitokani, Levani Botia, Samuel Matavesi and Filipo Nakosi are making their first appearance in the Flying Fijians colours in a Rugby World Cup.
5 of the players are travelling to their third Rugby World they have been part of the team since 2011.
They are in the likes of Campese Maafu, Leone Nakarawa, Dominiko Waqaniburotu, Vereniki Goneva and Kini Murimurivalu.
Flanker – Dominiko Waqaniburotu will captain the Flying Fijians to the Rugby World Cup.
