Works on Ellington Wharf in Rakiraki has stated today.

Confirming this, the Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Moore says they have completed their assessments and they will begin temporary works to ensure accessibility, with a plan being developed for a long term solution.

“Our assessments indicate that a considerable amount of damage has been caused when ships collide the ramp whilst berthing. We are urging shipping companies to improve their mooring practice to avoid further damages to our asset,” Mr Moore said.

Works are anticipated to be completed on Friday, 6th December which will prolong the life of the structure and improve safety for all users.
