Opposition whip Lynda Tabuya has been granted bail to the sum of $2000 and ordered to deactivate her facebook account.
Tabuya was taken into custody by CID officers on Thursday March 26th for a facebook post that was uploaded on March 19th.
Her facebook posts were alleged to have created fear or forter public alarm, public anxiety and disaffection.
Chief Magistrate Ratuvili informed the court that Tabuya was charged on Friday night and was in police custody for a total of 96 hours.
Her bail conditions also include reporting to the nearest police station once every two weeks, not to change her residential address and surrender her travel documents.
The Court further ordered that she not interfere with wtinesses.
Tabuya is charged with one count of Malicious Act and her case will be called again on the 6th of April.
