With the starting of the school break this week the Land Transport Authority reminds parents of the need to ensure that children are safe and not exposed to the dangers of playing near roads and traffic.

According to a statement from the LTA as roads will be a lot busier during the festive season, they are urging parents to take extra care on this regard to avoid the tragedy of a road accident involving children.

Parents should always know where their children are playing and ensure children are safe. Roads and motor vehicles are a dangerous mixture for children and keeping them safe are very important.

Parent are urged to remind your children about the safety messages below:

  • Only cross the road at a recognised crossing after checking it is safe to do so
  • Don’t cross the road in between parked vehicles
  • Don’t suddenly cross the road
