Parts of Suva will experience intermittent supply of water on Wednesday morning.
The Water Authority of Fiji is advising customers living in elevated parts of Flagstaff and Domain as well as surrounding areas in Suva that they may experience low water pressure from 4am to 5pm on Wednesday 3rd June.
Affected Areas Include:
∙Ratu Sukuna Road
∙Queen Elizabeth Drive
∙Laucala Bay Road
∙Victoria Parade from Sukuna Park to Nasese
∙Flagstaff to Suva Point
∙University of the South Pacific
The temporary interruption in water supply is to allow WAF ground teams to carry out urgent repairs to a leaking section of the DN600 bulk supply main at the Republic of Fiji Military Forces Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Nabua, preventing further major water disruptions.
The Authority advises customers residing in the areas above to use water wisely and to store water for their immediate needs during this temporary disruption period.
Water carting trucks are on standby to service the affected areas during the temporary disruption period.
WAF urges customers to conserve and always store sufficient amounts of water to last them for at least two to three days in their homes at all times.
WAF also encourages customers to invest in storage containers or water tanks connected to the water system for storage and backup supply during any unplanned disruption that may arise due to emergency works or natural disasters.
