Lifeline Fiji has received 250 calls in the last two months from Fijians seeking support.

Officer in Charge Jeremiah Merekula says the spike in the number of calls was due to the lock-down and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fear, worry, and stress are normal responses to perceived, and at times when we are faced with uncertainty or the unknown

Faced with new realities of working from home, temporary unemployment, home-schooling of children, and lack of physical contact it is important one looks after their mental and physical health.

Merekula says it is normal and understandable that people are stressed in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, however once must seek help if needed.

People can seek help by calling the toll free 24-hour helpline on 132454 or 1543.
