Forty two legal practitioners were admitted to bar at the Admissions ceremony held at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva.
Chief Justice Anthony Gates, who officiated at the event, reminded the legal practitioners to follow the right procedures when attending to cases that will require commitment and sacrifice.
“You must follow the right procedure. Do your homework. Yes, there will be plenty of evening work to do.”
“You will find in the law it is imperative that you check everything. You must be thorough. You must do your research, look up for governing legislation for your case or file. Find the subsidiary legislation, the Rules or Regulations.”
Justice Gates also reminded the young counsels to start well and maintain a reputation for professionalism, thoroughness, accuracy and dependability.
