Fiji Football Association president Rajesh Patel has tagged Lautoka as the true champions of Fiji Football.
While addressing the players, fans and officials during the thanksgiving ceremony last Saturday, Patel said Blues have done a feat that would be hard to achieve in recent times.
“It gives me a great pleasure for me to be standing here once again for the champion Lautoka side for winning back to back Vodafone Premier League and Courts IDC, its indeed a great feat.
“A feat which in recent times has not been achieved but you, as Blues that is fondly called and people love you as, have done it,” he said.
Lautoka won the back to back Vodafone Premier League and Courts Inter District Championship and Patel said this is only possible through a combined effort.
He commended the officials and players for a job well done.
“It’s the hard work of the coaches, the administrators and you as players this only can be achieved.
“We at Fiji FA are very proud to say that Lautoka has done it and today we can call you the true champions of Fiji Football.”
The players and officials received the shared prizemoney together with a hamper pack.
Patel urged the players to enjoy within limits.
“It’s a small do that they have said it, do enjoy in moderation.
“You always know when you want to become professional, you have to do it in moderation and keep it within limits.”
