Jessica Fong is Miss Fiji and was crowned in front of a packed audience at the Suva Civic Auditorium last night.

The 24-year-old, who is currently pursuing her studies in Medicine will represent the country at the Miss Pacific Island pageant.

Miss Fiji Jessica Fong has one week to prepare for the Miss Pacific Islands pageant, however, she hopes to make Fiji proud and empower young women in the country.

Fong, the reigning Miss Hibiscus also thanked her family members and the people of Suva for their support.

She also won the Best Research Award.

Miss Fiji Pageant Chairman Div Damodar says all the contestants are Queens in their respective towns and are advocates and future leaders.

Meanwhile, Miss Labasa Alitia Kautoga was the first runner up. Miss Sugar City Crystal Kapoor has crowed the second runner up, the Third runner up went to Miss Ovalau Samantha Whippy, while Miss Nadi Kirisitiana Uluwai walked away with the 4th runner up award.

The Miss Pacific Island Pageant will be held from the 25th of November in Papua New Guinea.
