The Minister for Agriculture, Rural and Maritime Development, National Disaster Management and Meteorological Services Inia Seruiratu recently led a Government delegation to the 20th Agricultural Technology Exhibition and Conference held in Israel.
Seruiratu also had bilateral meetings with Israel’s Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development, Israel’s Ambassador to Australia and the Head of Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Agency for International Development Co-operation.
The Head of Foreign Affairs welcomed the Fijian delegation to the 20th Israel Agritech Exhibition and Conference and acknowledged both countries long and favorable diplomatic relationship since 1970.
He specifically acknowledged Fiji’s contribution under the peace keeping missions especially in the Golan Heights, Sinai, Lebanon, Syria and in other Middle-Eastern Countries.
Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Agency for International Development Co-operation is prepared to expand its activities in Fiji and would be on hand to further assist Fiji in the areas of agriculture training, irrigation, research and livestock, especially in the dairy industry together with horticulture and tropical fruits like mango, avocado and banana.
The agency is also offering of fifteen places for agricultural students in Fiji to be trained in Israel.
