The President of Israel His-Excellency (H.E) Reuven Rivlin visited the Republic of Fiji on the 20th of February 2020.
Upon his Arrival, H.E Rivlin was accorded a ceremonial hundred-men guard by members of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) at the Nadi International Airport before being greeted by the Minister of Defence and National Security Honourable (Hon) Inia Seruiratu, the Commander RFMF Rear-Admiral Viliame Naupoto and Police Commissioner Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho.
H.E Rivlin was later welcomed traditionally at the Pullman Nadi bay resort by members of the RFMF in the presence of the Honourable Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama and various members of the diplomatic corp.
Speaking to those present during the traditional welcoming ceremony, H.E Rivlan told the audience how pleased he was to visit Fiji and acknowledged the Fijian people for accepting him and his delegation into the country.
The President of Israel is in the country to participate in the Pacific Islands Leaders Summit meeting. This was also the first time for H.E Rivlin to visit Fiji.
