Youth must be empowered to become agile participants in economic activities now.

This was highlighted by Minister for Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport, Hon. Faiyaz Koya at the Memorandum of Agreement signing ceremony for Young Entrepreneurship Scheme (YES) recipients, at Civic Towers today.

“By investing in our youths, we are contributing to their capability to succeed, providing a starting point for young Fijians in making a difference in society, and introducing a sense of independence and distinctiveness.”

The two recipients of YES were Mr Rakin Wahed and James Colata who adequately met the requirements for the funding of $12,000 and $30,000 respectively.

Mr Wahed is planning to develop the first health app called Pasifika Heartbeat and Mr Colata aims to position his CrossFit fitness gym as a globally recognised gym.
