Education plays a pivotal role in the lives of many and to ensure students stay in school a youth-led group started an initiative to help the underprivileged students in the society.
Coordinator Alliance for Future Generations – Fiji Lavetanalagi Seru says the initiative hopes uplift underprivileged children, families, and communities from their disadvantaged socio-economic status.
Seru says the main aim of the organisation is to help students in rural and maritime areas.
The stationery is distributed by Save the Children Fiji.
The Alliance for Future Generation started the ” one book, one pen” stationery drive in 2018.
In 2018, through the initiative, more than 1400 stationeries were collected which supported over 120 children.
The Alliance for Future Generations Fiji is a young people led network with over 300 members across Fiji.
The stationery drive will end on the 8th of January, 2020.
