“I want the house to note that all Fijians have access to education, whether its primary ,secondary or tertiary education”
These were the words of Minister for Industry and Trade Premila Kumar whilst delivering her maiden speech today in parliament.
Kumar addressed the Tertiary education loans scheme which was met with interjections from the opposition.
Kumar said that in the past there was no option given by the state to allow parents to send their children to University and adds TELS was never there before and it was the FijiFirst government that brought the initiative.
Kumar proceeded to explain further saying that in the past these youths would have missed out because of financial constraints, but now thanks to TELS they have an opportunity to get an education.
