There will be an increase in the price of fuel from tomorrow while gas prices will go down.
Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission General Manager Operations, Senikavika Jiuta says fuel prices have increased due to the unfavourable movement in international prices and weakening of the US Dollar against the Fijian dollar based on June 2020 imports.
Motorists in the country will have to fork out more money as the fuel prices will be increased from tomorrow.
The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission announced the new fuel and LPG prices that comes into effect from 1st August 2020.
The Motor Spirit has increased by 12 cents per litre while Premix increased by 14 cents.
Kerosene price remains the same.
Dieseal price has also increased by 11 cents per litre.
But the LPG price has decreased.
The 4.5kg Cylinder decreased by 32 cents while 12kg Cylinder decreased by 85 cents.
Cylinder has further decreased by 93 cents while Bulk of Gas decreased by 3 cents per kg and Autogas decreased by 2 cents per litre.
The fuel price in Fiji is impacted by the movement means of Platts Singapore, the international freight rate and the exchange rate.
Fiji is directly impacted by world market prices for both refined oils and LPG.
FCCC will conduct the next fuel and LPG price review on 1st September 2020.
