The Fiji oncology unit diagnoses a total of 20 child cancer cases per year.
This was revealed by the Pediatric Doctor, Losalini Leweniqila at the launch of the Child Cancer Awareness Month in Suva today.
Dr.Leweniqila says networking with resource rich countries have seen the improvement of services provided by her unit.
While officiating at the event the Deputy Commissioner of Australia to Fiji, Anna Dorney, commended the WOWS Kids Fiji Foundation for providing much needed support for families and children battling cancer.
The foundation supports children with transportation, medication, equiping child cancer wards, overseas treatments, accomodation, shopping and phone vouchers and diagnostic tests.
