Disaster preparedness plan is important for individual businesses, even market vendors and women should be included in planning and decision making.

This was shared by Adi Bale Kurunavanua ,a market vendor for the past 15 years during the Pacific Resilience Meeting at the University of the South Pacific today.

Kurunavanua , who is also the Secretary for the Nadi Market Vendors Association shared the hardship vendors have to go through during disasters, but she is thankful for project such as the UN Women Markets for Change project for training vendors to be resilient.

“If there is a message I want to leave will today, it is to include women in your process because we are the one who will be using the building and it should be safe and inclusive,” she said.
